It's among the most flexible and accommodating in the PC gaming world for co-op play.
I love the PBEM functionality in the AoW games.
Lastly, does anybody know: Is this exclusively a single-player mod, or could I PBEM Co-Op with friends, with (fox example) one of us as Gondor, one as Rohan, and one as somebody else?. Does anybody know if the mod is still alive and compatible with the most recent versions of ? If so, where would I find it?. If anybody knows the mod, I'm talking about, can they tell me which game it's for?. Googling led me to about 40 different LoTR mods for AoW, AoW:SM, and AoW3, but I'm struggling to find the right mod for the right game. 
Unfortunately, I can't remember which game the mod you all loved was for, or if it's compatible with whatever I'd buy on Steam? So, in the past on this forum, I've heard a number of you rave about how great the LoTR mod is for Age of Wonders, and I see a bunch of those AoW games on deep discount on Steam.
